[Athi River Campus: 10th April 2026] The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Laban P. Ayiro, hosted five officials from the University of Texas in Dallas who visited Daystar University to explore possible areas of collaboration between the two institutions.
In his welcome remarks, Prof. Ayiro invited the University of Texas to consider Daystar University a serious and strategic partner. He emphasized his determination to establish both student and faculty exchange programmes between the two universities.

Speaking on behalf of the University of Texas, Prof. Juan E.Gonzalez who is the Vice Provost for Global Engagement, and Dean of Graduate Education expressed optimism about building a meaningful partnership with Daystar University, beginning with student exchange programmes.  Other areas of collaboration the two universities considered in the discussions include: Faculty exchange, joint research, and curriculum exchange.

Prof. Ayiro reaffirmed Daystar University’s commitment to supporting disadvantaged students to access education, further observing that people become better through exposure to different cultures and experiences.

Present also was the DVC-ARSA, Prof. Samuel Muriithi, the Dean School of Law, Dr. Maurice Owuor, the Director Resource Mobilization Ms. Jacquiline Mathaga and Ms. Carolyne Nyokabi from Resource Mobilization.

On his part, Prof. Gonzalez was accompanied by senior Director for International Initiatives, Dr. Jennifer Hilton, PhD, Senior Director, immigration programs Ms. Josephine Khamisi vitta, J.D, Senior Manager Outreach and Recruitment Mr. Princewill Attai.
In his remarks, Prof. Samuel Muriithi noted that the collaboration between the two universities will help build the capacity of teachers in the areas of course delivery, knowledge acquisition, training of trainers (ToT), applied subject/skill-based learning, appropriate learning, online learning, and skills development and upskilling.

As he shared the vision and mission of Daystar University, Prof. Samuel Muriithi emphasized that the University is committed to nurturing agents of change and transformation who will make a positive impact in society.
Speaking on the institution’s humble beginnings, Prof. Muriithi noted that Daystar University had grown remarkably over the years into a leading institution of higher learning.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of the Main Campus, with the delegation visiting the Heroes Corner, the School of Nursing, the School of Law, the Chapel construction site, and the University Library.
