Daystar University Falcons men's handball team wins the trophy for the nationals at the courts of Kenyatta University.

[Kenyatta University, Monday 28th March 2025]. The Daystar Falcons Handball teams for men and ladies outshined themselves in this year’s Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA)Tournaments which took place from 28th to 30th March 2025 at Kenyatta University.

The Daystar Falcons Men’s Handball team put its best foot forward, facing off with Kenyatta University in the finals, and eventually emerging winners with a score of 15-14.

As the men’s team emerged the best, the women’s team also pushed hard to win the semi-finals after playing a highly competitive match against Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), and later proceeding to the finals.

In the finals, the ladies’ team remained confident and spirited, consistently dominating the game in a fierce fight against Kenyatta University. The team however lost concentration in the last fifteen minutes, securing the second position in the National Championship.

“This a good moment for the girls to learn the pressure of the game and manage it,”  said the handball coach, Martin Kamau.

Commenting about the men’s team Martin observed that the boys managed to reach the finals as the underdogs, but kept a fighting spirit till the end. He noted that the men’s team showed maturity and growth and did a commendable job both in defense and attack.

"They not only implied that they were there to play, but they also demonstrated their commitment and willingness to triumph at the end of the tournament, which translated to them becoming winners at the end," said Martin Kamau with pride.

Truly, the Daystar Falcons Handball team made Daystar University proud.
