Daystar University Hosts AIESEC Event

 [Athi River, October 9, 2024] Daystar University hosted an AIESEC event at the Main Campus Amphitheater. The theme of the event was: Creative monetization and digital job opportunities.  It was organized in partnership with True Path Safaris, Kiu Fresh, Shine FM, and Involvement newspaper.

[Athi River, October 9, 2024] Daystar University hosted an AIESEC event at the Main Campus Amphitheater. The theme of the event was: Creative monetization and digital job opportunities. It was organized in partnership with True Path Safaris, Kiu Fresh, Shine FM, and Involvement newspaper.
AIESEC is a global platform that aims to develop the leadership potential of young people through practical experiences, including internships, volunteering opportunities and many more. During the event the students present got the opportunity to interact with a Daystar alumnus Mr. Roy Gitahi, who is also the founder of Wabunii Sacco.
Mr. Roy Gitahi shared some thoughts on financial independence for digital content creators as well as what Wabunii Sacco does, which includes: facilitating capacity building for individual creatives, markets and development of diversity of products, and contribution of the creative economy to the national GDP.
During a panel discussion, Bethuel Wafula, a senior digital media officer at Safaricom highlighted the need for consistence when doing digital content creation.
The Daystar University AIESEC President Ms. Makeba Ida shared what AIESEC is all about and what it does. She revealed that AIESEC has existed in Daystar University for over 30 years..
According to Makeba Ida, AIESEC provides youths globally with opportunities to offer solutions through exchange, leadership, and development programmes.
During the event, Daystar University student entrepreneurs also got the opportunity to advertise their products. Participants also went home with goodies which included: T-shirts, airtime and bags.
