January 2025 Freshmen make the Declaration of Ascent during the Matriculation ceremony on 15th Jan 2025

[Athi River, 15th January 2025] For each intake, the admission of new students to Daystar University is never complete without Matriculation. This is a special ceremony which formalizes the admission of new students, thereby enabling them to enroll academic year.

This year’s matriculation ceremony took place at the Amphitheater, Main Campus Athi River.  It was attended by freshmen, Deans, Directors, HODs, faculty, staff, members of Management Board, and officiated by the Ag. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Muturi Wachira. 

The event began with a full color academic procession from the Admissions Office at the PAC Administration Block, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.

At the Amphitheatre, the Ag. DVC-ARSA Prof. Samuel Muriithi welcomed the new students as he reminisced about his life as a freshman, encouraging the students to fully appreciate the moment.  “This is a special day for our new students, it takes me back to the year 1986 when I joined University”.

He further advised the students to avoid poor performance by balancing study and social life, while remaining focused on their academic journey.

In his inaugural address, the Ag. Vice Chancellor Prof. Muturi Wachira conveyed a message of hope in which he invited the new students to trust in Jesus as a friend. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart if you want to succeed in Daystar.”

Prof. Wachira also emphasized the importance of making the right choices for a better tomorrow.  He encouraged the new students to explore the various opportunities available at Daystar University such as using the library to gain knowledge and discover one’s purpose.

The event climaxed with signing of the declaration of ascent form which signifies their formal acceptance of admission and commitment to uphold the University’s core values. The matriculation ceremony enables students to register by selecting courses on the student portal.
