Vice Chancellor pushes US Engagements

Prof. Laban P. Ayiro ended the pre-Easter week with a visit to the University of Northwestern where he met the President Dr. Alan Cureton and Prof. Mark Seignious of UNW Radio KTIS. Prof. Seignious was part of the UNW/KTIS team that travelled to Nairobi last June to set up the Daystar University Communication studios.

Prof. Laban P. Ayiro ended the pre-Easter week with a visit to the University of Northwestern where he met the President Dr. Alan Cureton and Prof. Mark Seignious of UNW Radio KTIS. Since arriving in the US on Saturday 2nd April 2022, the Vice Chancellor has had the following engagements:
April 4 – 9, 2022:
Attended training on fundraising for Vice Chancellors from Africa at the University of Iowa Centre for Innovative Leadership and Governance (CLIG). The training brought together VCs and education sector CEO's from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Egypt, and the Republic of South Africa.
The training was facilitated in collaboration with the Institute for International Business (IIB), a CLIG partner, under the theme a partnership between John Pappa John Entrepreneurship Centre and the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa.
The CLIG University Leaders’ Training focuses on issues that leaders from African universities strive to address in order to transform their institutions, with knowledge shared envisaged to equip and enhance their work. The training also offers opportunities to partner with US institutions. The package includes visits to various places of interest like Innovation hubs, research parks, modern Engineering and Science labs using Artificial Intelligence (AI). Participants will also participate in some cultural activities including home visits. Content coverage included:
