[Nairobi March 28, 2025] The International Students Association of Daystar University (ISADU), held its Annual Diplomatic dinner on 28th March 2025, at Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, along Mombasa Road. The theme of the 15th Diplomatic Dinner was: Shaping Africa's Future: The role of youth in conflict transformation.

An elegant evening  of diplomacy and connection Daystar University holds a diplomatic dinner at Argyle Grand hotel.

[Nairobi March 28, 2025] The International Students Association of Daystar University (ISADU), held its Annual Diplomatic dinner on 28th March 2025, at Argyle Grand Hotel in Nairobi, along Mombasa Road. The theme of the 15th Diplomatic Dinner was: Shaping Africa's Future: The role of youth in conflict transformation.

The event provided a platform for international students to interact with diplomats from their home countries and establish contacts for job placement and internship opportunities. It also created opportunity for Ambassadors and High Commissioners to get firsthand information about how international students live and study in Kenya.

The event attracted students from 31 nationalities and Diplomats from six countries including Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria, Uganda, Zimbabwe, and the host country Kenya.

The students elegantly strolled into the Argyle Grand Hotel Ballroom adorned in colorful African attire, setting a vibrant mood for the dinner .

The Assistant Chaplain, Nairobi Campus, Rev. Susan Siole kicked off the dinner with a message centered around human compassion. “The Almighty God loves the foreigner,” said Rev. Siole, further encouraging Kenyan nationals to embrace foreign and cultivate a society of togetherness and mutual respect.

The Chief Guest was the Director General/CEO of the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA), Dr. Alice Kande. She delivered a keynote address that aligned with the evening's theme, saying that everyone has a critical role to play in fostering harmony among themselves and their countries.

Dr. Kande explained the crucial role KNQA plays in facilitating the integration and harmonization of education globally. She commended the Daystar University's diverse student body consisting of 32 nationalities.

Dr. Kande acknowledged Daystar University for viewing education with a wide lense, by appreciating where each student comes from. She also highlighted the significant role of the institutions of higher learning in fostering a new generation of leaders.

Speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, the Director of Academic Affairs, Dr. Dinah Keino, who also represented the Ag. DVC ARSA Prof. Samuel Muriithi, underscored the importance of the evening theme “Shaping Africa's Future Through the Role of Youth in Conflict Management,” saying that it was most appropriate for today’s world that is marred with conflict.

“Daystar University believes in empowering young leaders with the skills and knowledge necessary to curb conflict and create a peaceful coexistence and a prosperous Africa," she said.

The gathering demonstrated the importance of embracing diversity and empowering youth to shape a better future for Africa. The diplomats and guests were encouraged to continue building bridges of collaboration and support, ensuring that the spirit of inclusion and mutual respect extends beyond the walls of the Argyle Grand Hotel.

Everyone was treated to an array of delicacies which was the highlight of the night.
